| | blah | ] | It's getting down to the wire kinda and I need this stellar community's help!
Info: - We are 2 single girls (one VERY recently) in our late 20's-early 30's. - We are on a budget and can't afford anything *too* expensive. - Something along the TTC line is a plus. - No outdoor activities/celebrations. - We would like to get somewhat dressed up and dance and meet cute boys. - Most important: must be fun!
I am at an utter loss because I have spent my last few new year's with a BF.
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA peeps
(ps. Does no one have grown up house parties anymore?) |

| Toronto man fell at least one storey at Eaton Centre |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|09:02 pm] |
A Toronto man was in hospital Wednesday night after he apparently jumped from a railing in Toronto's Eaton Centre mall.
Police and EMS officials were called to the busy mall around 5:15 p.m. after the man, whose identity hasn't been released, jumped from a railing on a sub-level floor near the entrance to the Dundas subway, Toronto police Detective Brad Brigham said.
The unidentified man landed one storey below, at the base of an escalator.
“I don't think it was accidental,” Det. Brigham said. “Apparently he was talking to a female. No one really heard any yelling,” and after the woman walked away the man jumped, the officer said.
The incident left part of the south portion of the mall, on a lower level near the subway, taped off briefly. The mall was packed with shoppers at the time of the incident.
He was taken to hospital in serious condition, but was alert when he left the mall, Det. Brigham said. The officer expects him to recover from his injuries.

| Felt in Toronto |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|06:15 pm] |
Cut Out and Keep is an awesome website and I want to do all sorts of crafting projects from it! But WHERE in Toronto can you find felt? Dollar stores and Crafting stores at the Mall don't have anything usable for these projects.
So where do we find good felt Toronto?
We're gonna try out this project:

| Bridal bling hoodie? |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|05:12 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | bouncy | ] | So I was watching Dr. Phil (Xmas break boredom already!) and I saw this woman wearing the most delightfully tacky hoodie! It was white and looked like it was made of velour or something, with "Bride" written in bling on the back in swirly cursive. Of course, I need it badly. I'm not getting married until 2011, but still.
It looked a lot like this one:

This one has little bows on the sleeve that I kind of hate (although I could probably cut them off), and I could do without the ring shaped zipperpull and the "Future Mrs." on the chest. It's also from Victoria's Secret, which apparently doesn't have a store downtown.
I would REALLY rather not have to travel all the way to Vaughan to buy a hoodie. Has anybody seen anything like this downtown? Any help is appreciated. |

| Xmas Volunteering |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|04:02 pm] |
Looking for somewhere to volunteer short term for the holidays. It has to be short term b/c BF is in town for only a short amount of time, so he can't make a long term commitment.
We would prefer something indoors, and not the typical "put food in a box in a food bank." We know they need volunteers, but we're looking for something smaller that might need the most help and doesn't always get volunteers.
All suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks, |

| turkey. |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|02:46 pm] |
So last minute, my mother decided that she doesn't feel like doing the whole Christmas dinner thing this year. Are there places/restaurants/grocery stores in the city that offer pre-prepared turkey, stuffing, etc, for a reasonable price?
We'd prefer to bring it home or have it delivered, but eating out is fine too. Thanks in advance, guys! :) |

| metropass |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|01:44 pm] |
|
I bought a Metropass from school and then shit changed so I don't need it next month. I paid $107 for it and would like to get that back - a deal if you're not a student! I'd prefer to meet up at St. Clair West station, but can go to another station in that general vicinity if you like. |

| Night Jobs |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|01:41 pm] |
I recently got an internship with the hours of 9-6. However, my job usually starts at 6, so now I'm only able to work on weekends.
Does anyone know of any part-time night jobs with the hours around 7-12? My internship is located downtown. I can only think of data entry, and grocery stores - if anyone could recommend some companies/locations for those. |

| Restaurant Help! |
[Dec. 22nd, 2009|01:12 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | hopeful | ] | Hello Toronto!
I am taking my mother out for dinner and a show for Christmas this year.
We are going to the Panasonic Theater, Near Yonge and Charles.
I am not familiar with the restaurants in that area.
Anyone have any suggestions of good places to eat? Not too expensive but not fast food either.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
